Continuing to Grow

Continuing to Grow

It seems like just yesterday that Bethany and I decided to meet every month to discuss EFT together, alternating offices between Kansas City and Lawrence. That was in 2015, and very quickly other local clinicians with interest and training in EFT joined us. By 2017, with Debi Scimeca-Diaz’s encouragement, we decided to organize ourselves and get serious about being a community, and thus was KC EFT born.  Thankfully, Jessica has been willing to head up our Leadership Group, keeps us on track, and is technologically savvy. We miss Karen, who is continuing her own EFT growth in South Korea; and we are so pleased to have Vivian and Amberlee contributing on the leadership team today.

So here we are in 2018, having recently completed our first KC EFT Community Externship in October, and with our upcoming Core Skills Training already full. It has been exciting to develop relationships with fabulous EFT Trainers like Debi Scimeca-Diaz from New Jersey, and Elana Katz and George Faller from New York City. We also look forward to bringing in more expertise for future trainings to help improve all of our skills in couples work, as well as other EFT modalities, including individual and family therapy. We even have two local EFT supervisors in training, Bethany Butler Myers and Jessica Schroeder.

Our monthly community meetings have been such a wonderful support to me in my EFT learning, and have also helped to cure the loneliness that I sometimes feel in solo private practice. I have been very impressed with the EFT conversations we get to have as a result of the interesting topics covered by a different presenter each time.

I am feeling proud of our accomplishments thus far, and truly blessed to get to work with such fine KC area clinicians and human beings on this mutual labor of love, the KC EFT Community.

Without the support of the Kansas City area community of therapists, none of this could have happened. Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you at our next EFT community meeting.
